Speaking of the business economy in Kavadarci and in Macedonia as well we must say that the main landmark is the metallic mill “FENI” bought by the French incorporation SCMM in November of 2000.

“FENI”  is economy giant for ferronickel production  in our region. 

The existence of this factory has a very humongous meaning for this region, as well for the country. This factory unfortunately was shut down for nearly two years now, but now is reopened with the help of the French company CSMM who is the stratelogical partner in FENI.

This company has 900 employees.

FENI uses the ferronickel from the mine “R’Zanovo” in Konopiste where they exploit the mine and than they transport the minerals to the ironworks place.

After found stratelogical investor the factory will continue with the production with much more intensity and will enable to reopen up the second furnace. With this one furnace the factory makes around 5.500 tons/year.

The backup of ferronickel in the mine “’Rzanovo” are 43 million tons and the nickel itself is only 1%. The yearly plan of producing is 1,6 million tons if the two furnace work.

The fact that only one furnace was working so far the yearly producing was 800.000 tons.

The meaning of FENI comes from the fact that the company is an employment opportunity for additional 500-600 people who are the specialize service for FENI’s needs. This company also works closely with RUDKOP and FIORD.

“RUDKOP” with its work, it’s entirely dedicated to meet the needs of FENI, with specific mechanization. It is now in privat ownership.

“FIORD” manufactures and maintains the machine, mining, electro equipment and spare parts, turbines and giving services for the needs of mining-metallurgy and electro-energetic capacities.

Machine and mining equipment includes: conveyors, steel constructions, ordinary equipment, sieves, pulverizes, separators, special engines.

As a part of FIORD is an electro-workshop where they do the following services: service for engines and transformers, their examinations, rotor balancing etc.

About 60% of the engaged FIORD capacities are used by FENI, which makes him the biggest consumer of the FIORD services.

The company has 130 employees.
